Generally in the Cannabis and Hemp industries we are using C128, C39 and QR type data-images. The C39 and C128 barcodes are simple and only contain a small amount of data. QR codes are a much more information dense format.
C39 and C128 are the the standard types you will see on all kinds of general consumer products. In the general consumer products space, everyone has their codes entered into the GS1 database. This doesn't exist for cannabis and hemp.
Additionally, many regulatory agencies force the code to be a Lot identifier, not a Product identifier.
QR codes are digital square and can contain much more information.
These codes do not have the same strict printing requirements that C39 or C128 do.

Is the barcode big enough? Barcodes have a specific size and WxH ratio that has to be in place.

Barcode Margin There needs to be some margin of white-space around a barcode or you'll have problem.

Printer? If you are printing on Low DPI printers (eg Zebra) this can cause issues too.
