The Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office (AMCO) is the primary regulatory agency for both adult-use and medical cannabis in Alaska [1]. The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development houses the AMCO [1]. The Bureau of Health Analytics & Vital Records in Alaska handles the medical-use cannabis patient registry. [5]

Licensing
There are six types of marijuana establishment licenses in Alaska [10]:

- Marijuana Testing Facilities
- Retail Marijuana Stores
Possession Limits
Adults 21 and over are allowed to possess:

Medical Cannabis
Patients can register for the medical marijuana program if they have a qualifying condition and a statement from their physician [9]. Some qualifying conditions include: [13]

- Multiple Sclerosis
- Nausea
- Seizures
- Cancer
- Epilepsy
- HIV/AIDS
- Chronic Pain or Severe Pain
Registered patients can designate a primary caregiver who must be at least 21 years old and meet other requirements [13].
